FIELD NOTES03 APPLICATIONS
OCTOBER 2026
I use AI as a directed part of the creative process: developing visual concepts, shaping motion and edits, and building workflows that help teams move from brief to finished work. My role is to set the standard, specify what the tools should produce, and decide what is accurate, on brand, and ready to release.

in the selection round
Make the next step visible.
I directed ChatGPT and Base44 to connect the brand toolkit, landing pages, exercise submissions and interview booking.

- 01The brief
- Give three finalists a consistent design exercise and a clear path to submission and conversation.
- 02What I directed or designed
- Defined the assignments, organized the source material and directed the connected application experience.
- 03What the AI tool did
- Helped build the pages and submission workflow from my requirements and provided brand resources.
- 04What I reviewed or changed
- Found missing submission emails, directed the routing fix and confirmed receipt of the final exercise. Hiring judgment stayed with the Communications Director and me.
AI-directed motion & video
An intentional frame.
A coherent story.

Capital Campaign: the restrained reveal.
Move the camera. Preserve the printed design.

A slow, six-second push along the camera’s optical axis; approximately 8% apparent enlargement.
Treat typography, logos, photography and architecture as one rigid printed surface. Avoid page turns, morphing, flicker and added effects.
I designed the publication and directed its presentation in motion. Higgsfield generated the animation from the reference and constraints.
Read the motion brief and visual description
Brief: Give the existing publication a restrained cinematic presentation for the portfolio. Keep the full cover visible and the design recognizable. The original generation completed October 4, 2026, Central time.
Visual description: A printed campaign publication rests at an angle against a dark studio background. A slow camera push increases its apparent size while the artwork remains in view. The clip contains no dialogue or sound.
02 / Original fictional short-form series
Vince Perril.
Character through continuity.
A recurring AI-created comedy character, directed through reference images, clear scene geography and a concise setup–reveal–reaction structure.
The Commission
The briefA dismissive salesperson loses the sale—and the commission—to a colleague who treats Vince with respect.
My directionLock the character, showroom, cast and car geography with reference images. Make recognition precede the money reveal; finish on the salesperson’s reaction.
The tool’s contributionAI-generated character imagery, motion and native dialogue, guided by the supplied references and shot instructions.
My quality decisionKeep the U.S. driver position consistent and simplify difficult physical actions with controlled cuts. The car stays stationary.

Measurement scope and descriptive transcript
Published October 19, 2026. Snapshot retrieved October 22, 2026, for posts in the October 15–22 query range. Views are plays, not unique viewers; reach is reported separately. This is a dated snapshot, not a live counter. Metrics are transcribed from the connected analytics response.
Visual description: In a luxury showroom, a salesman dismisses Vince. A second salesman recognizes him. Vince indicates a car and puts a cash-filled bag on the desk. After a cut implying the sale, Vince sits in the driver’s seat and assigns the commission to the respectful salesman. The first salesman reacts.
Dialogue: “You can’t afford this.” “Vince! Another one?” “That one. Three hundred thousand.” “He gets the commission, Twin.”
AI product design / InterviewQuest
Feedback with
a reason behind it.
My role Product concept, experience requirements, AI-assisted development direction and launch QA direction. ChatGPT · Base44
An interview-practice experience built around a simple requirement: feedback should help a person explain their real experience more clearly. It should not invent a stronger career history for them.
Start with the person’s material
Context before coaching.
Focus practice on the opportunity.
Supply the facts the feedback may use.
Make the AI-review step explicit.
This walkthrough explains the prototype; it does not collect your resume or send an AI request.
The evaluation model
Six criteria.
Explicit priorities.
Select a criterion to inspect its role. Percentages are rubric weights, not a candidate’s score or a prediction of interview success.
Are the claims supported by specific, supplied examples?
- 01The brief
- Help people rehearse role-relevant answers using their own experience and identify a useful next improvement.
- 02What I directed or designed
- Directed the practice flow, feedback structure, six-criterion rubric, source-grounding requirements and release checks.
- 03What the AI tool did
- Base44 and AI coding assistance implemented the app; the coaching model returns structured feedback from the submitted answer and career context.
- 04What I reviewed or changed
- Inspected saved feedback and test results. Kept human validation in the loop and maintained the prototype label while launch checks remain open.
Testing status / evidence reviewed October 22, 2026
Implemented and tested in parts
- Six weighted criteria and a saved synthetic coaching review.
- Source-excerpt and response-structure checks in the implementation.
- Recorded owner-only concurrency tests passed on October 11.
- Payment, refund and expiry webhook records processed in test mode.
Release evidence still required
- Consolidated ordinary-user access and separate-account concurrency sign-off.
- Representative feedback-quality review, including unsupported implications.
- Documented per-session AI cost and support assumptions.
- Live-payment readiness and external-user validation.
These records establish specific prototype behavior. They do not establish a production launch, paying customers, or improved hiring outcomes.
The common thread
Set the standard.
Stay accountable for the result.
Across creative production and product experiments, I define the brief, direct the tools, inspect the work and make the release decision. Each project makes those responsibilities visible.
